MIRI: Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd on Wednesday demonstrated its caring attitude towards the welfare of its staff’s family.
Matthew Bigam, who works as workscoper for 10 years with the company, breathed a sigh of relief as his 11-year old daughter Vienitta Frennie could finally receive the medical treatment needed when a cash contribution of RM7,270 was handed to them.
“The contribution is an effort by management and staff of Dayang Enterprise as part of our company’s social responsibility to share some of the burden faced by Matthew,” said James Ling, deputy executive chairman of Dayang Enterprise.
He said Matthew approached him to apply for leave so he could accompany his daughter to Sarawak General Hospital for operation on the left side of her face, where she is suffering from maxillary aneurysm bone cyst, a tumour on her face.
Vienitta has undergone surgical operation at Miri General Hospital but was advised to refer to Kuching General Hospital for more advanced diagnosis and surgical operation by specialists.
Thanking his company, Matthew said the money would lighten their burden as it would be used to cover air tickets, medical and other miscellaneous expenses for his daughter’s treatment in Kuching.
